“Many people asked me to do Magadheera in Hindi. I didn’t feel excited about it. After that, when the script of Zanzeer was explained to me, I took a time of 8 months thinking whether to do it or not. Apoorva Lakhia finally convinced me on the project. On the day of ‘Zanzeer’ shoot, I took the blessings of Amitabhji, who was in the nearby set”, explained Ram Charan Tej. Charan, who is celebrating his birthday on this Wednesday, has spoken to the media people, on the sets of “Evadu”.
Lets us have a look of what he has spoken.
“The shooting of Zanzeer has almost finished. Both ‘Evadu’ and ‘Zanzeer’ will be released this summer. These films will hit the screens with a gap of 5 weeks. I have done this kind of experiment for the first time. In future, I will definitely do 2 Telugu films, a year. If there is time for the third film, it will be in Hindi. If possible, we will make it a bilingual film. Sometimes, if it becomes difficult, it will be retained to Hindi.”
I know the greatness:
“Dad had played the role of a police officer in ‘Prathibandh’. In ‘Zanzeer’, I have played the role of a police officer. Never did Priyanka Chopra show the feeling of seniority. She maintained a lot of friendliness. Yogi has worked very hard, for the Telugu version. Sri Hari sir will entertain as Sherkhan.
Generation has changed:
“In the past, Bollywood people used to see us. Those days we used to finish a film in 60 or 70 days. But today, compared to Bollywood, we are very poor in many aspects. They have a perfect planning. ‘Zanzeer’ movie has been shot in two versions, in 75 days. But, even now, we people are very strong in emotions.”
About ‘Evadu’:
“The mainstream of ‘Evadu’ is commercial thriller. An idea of ‘Face off’ will be seen in the film. Bunny is playing an important role. The entire film will be in a dark shade.”
Historical:
“I am doing a film with Koratala Shiva. In the beginning of next year, I will be working with Trivikram. Soon after the completion of Bunny’s film with Surender Reddy, my film will be started with the same director. Gopi Ganesh said that he has a line. I have asked him to develop it. I wish to do periodical movies. That does not mean too old. I wish to show the situations of the period between 1990-1940, i.e. the time before India has achieved its independence. Karan Johar is a good friend of mine. We do make calls to each other. He asked me to do ‘Agnipath’ in Telugu. But the film is not new to us. We have seen a lot of emotions. I have said that if I offer him a Telugu film as a friend, it should have a great impact on the audiences. If I go to Mumbai and not call Salman Khan, he will be angry with me. He asks “You have come to my city and why didn’t you call me?” I have good relations with Bollywood people.
Considering all:
“I think like an audience while listening to the script. I just put my image aside. The entire track gets spoiled if the image comes into consideration. When one thinks that there is no essence in the story, image is added. ‘Evadu’ remains a good story even if some other hero does it. It is a story that suits every hero.”
A Lesson:
“I always feel ‘Orange’ a lesson. In future I will definitely do another love story. We should have made slight changes in the screenplay of ‘Orange’”.
About my Wife:
“My wife is a huge fan of Yash Chopra. She watches action movies rarely. Presently, we are being together just 4 days a month. I did not get the feeling that I have got married. So is with Upasana. So, we have been planning a trip in June.”
I was not asked:
“K.S.Rama Rao sir did not ask me to work for the remake of ‘Abhilasha’. The movies like Rudraveena and Geetanjali will look good under budget, without going for a big budget. If any one comes forward with a good story, I am ready to act with a lesser remuneration. I have been listening to many scripts for the 150th film of Dad. We have selected some of them. But, we are still listening to the scripts for the best.
I don’t believe it:
In Bollywood, a number war is running between Salman and Sharukh. It is very unhealthy. I never had any belief in these numbers. Presently, there is a friendly atmosphere in Tollywood. I have good relations with NTR and Mahesh. All of us are very friendly to each other.”
Delay:
“Gym is a compulsory thing. These days I am getting very tired in the evenings, after the shoot. Thus, I am going to the gym in the mornings. The directors having understood this are planning the shooting schedule according to this. They carry on with the other scenes before I come. When the magazines publish the gossips, we read and enjoy. Reading the things they write, one has to be unable to ask how they have found it out, and start checking oneself. But, saying the same non real things again and again and trying to convince everyone, becomes the reason of anger. The volcano, that I had in me for three long years, had exploded that day, on the stage. It makes me uncomfortable, when the fans also come into a belief of the fake news.
Sports:
“Polo is not a game of interest for all the people. But, adding some glamour to it, all the artists are trying to syndicate it. Cinema is just a matter of entertainment. I don’t think there will be an impact of cinema on the politics”.
