Cast : - Sunil,Isha Chawla

Rating : - 2.25/5
Isha Chawla worked with Sunil for the second time, for “Mr.Pellikoduku”. It is an official remake of “Tanu weds Manu”. The movie is released today, and is directed by Devi Prasad. SA Rajkumar has composed the music under Mega Supergood Movies banner with a decent budget.
Story :
Sunil plays the role of Buchi Babu(Sunil), who owns a boutique. He comes to India after 6 years to select a bride for himself, from the options given by his parents (Tulasi and Dharmavarapu Subrahmanyam). His first “Pellichoopulu” are with Anjali (Isha Chawla), the daughter of Sugar Subbaraju (Ahuthi Prasad). Buchi Babu falls in love with Anjali at the very first sight and so is Anjali.
But, Anjali suddenly reveals her wild side, leaving behind a shocked Buchi Babu. He instantly says no to the match and starts searching for other brides. But he could not get Anjali out of his heart.
Say fate, Buchi Babu attends a wedding of his friend, Naayar in Kerala where he finds Anjali again!!! The feelings blossom in his heart!!! He takes the help of his friend Bachi (Ali) to win back the heart of Anjali.
The rest of the story answers the questions, Will he succeed? Does Anjali love someone else?
Positive points :
Sunil’s dance is very good. During some scenes, he remembers us of the old Sunil, the comedy actor. Isha Chawla is very beautiful in the movie and her acting is good. Her glamour and talent are enough to make her more popular. She has made her interesting character worth seeing.
Ali brings in some smiles, not to a complete extent. The roles of Dharmavarapu, Ravi Babu, Ahuthi Prasad are just ok. The first half has some fun. Ravi Babu fighting with Sunil is worth enjoying. “Pellichoopulu” of Sunil are funny and the “Inuparekulu” serial episode will strike a chord with the family crowds.
Negative points :
Isha looks beautiful but care must have been taken regarding Sunil. The makeup, hairstyle, make him look old. The charm he had when he was heavy, in the films “Dhee”,”Sontham”, “Santhosham” etc., is definitely missing. Some of his dances are very good but some looked really funny. “The belt step” is really too much.
There are many songs in the film and they keep on coming one after the other. This makes the viewers feel restless. The scenes of sentiment are very dramatic and unrealistic. The dialogues and pathetic background score has made things worse. The comedy is very outdated.
Some scenes do not have a proper justification and look as if they are forced to occur. The climax fight is not at all realistic, one can easily make it out that the scene was inserted to show off Sunil’s body.
The original “Tanu weds Manu” worked because of the good music and clever screenplay. Both of them are missing in the Telugu version!!!
Verdict :
The movie is a poor remake of the original version, “Tanu weds Manu”. Sunil’s odd makeup, bad background score, outdated comedy are the major minus points. Isha’s glamour and the comedy of the first half are the only positives. But still, they are not enough to save the movie.
