Rating : 1.75/5
Vennela Kishore has once again come before the audiences with “Jaffa”, starring Brahmanandam. Ramesh Varma produced the flick and Anup Rubens scored the music. Let us see how the film is!!!!
Story:
Brahmanandam played the role of J Falguda a.k.a. Jaffa, a software engineer. Melkote, his boss, being a sadist puts him through a lot of difficulties, making his life tough. Dhanraj played the role of Sujith, the timid assistant of Jaffa. Once, Jaffa meets Alla Uddin (Venu Madhav), by chance. This meeting changes his life and he decides to go against his boss. This decision puts him in a lot more difficulties, ending up with Jaffa being blamed for the death of a person. He is put in jail, where he earns a good reputation and the jailer Nikki becomes his fan. Jaffa plans an escape, unhappy to spend the time in jail.
Will his plans workout???What does he have to face after that???Will he be able to prove himself against the murder case?? Here goes the rest of the story….
Posative Points:
Brahmanandam suits perfectly to the role of Jaffa and he has given his best in taking forward the film. Melkote is just ok and Thagubothu Ramesh has managed to bring out some laughs.
Negative Points:
With someone like the comedy king Brahmanandam in the lead role, if you fail to bring in laughs, you should be blaming no one but yourself!! The director should be blamed for this, here. An idea of the entire film can be formulated in just 15 minutes. After that, nothing remains for the viewers to wait for or guess. The film has a very poor screenplay. The extremely slow pace of the movie irritates the viewers. Vennela Kishore completely failed as a director in the movie. It seems that some of the short film makers could have given a better film!!! Though Brahmanandam is a top comedian, there should be comedy in the script, in order to utilize the comedian. The director has to understand this fact. The characters of Ali, Ravi Babu and Venu Madhav are awkward in the film.
Verdict:
The film is just as the title. It ends up being a “Jaffa” film. The pace of the movie is very slow, uninteresting and boring. Having the comedy king in the lead role, the film fails at making the people laugh. Previously, Brahmanandam saved many films from being disasters, single handed, with his comedy. But, even he cannot save the film in this case, with such a poor story and awkward direction.
